The birds have different environmental needs for their housing, according to their origin in nature. For example: if the small Venezuelan Cardinal originates from a part of the planet where winter is not severe ( around 15°c) , we house it in a place where this temperature is maintained. And likewise for other species. Certainly it is not possible to have individual rooms for every species of birds, but certainly for groups of birds of the same species or origin. So we have environments for canaries, Australian and African exotics, for South American exotics, external aviaries for parrots, for the European fauna in a temperature controlled atmosphere. Cleanliness is fundamental to us and is scrupulously observed. The cage bases are all equipped with a mesh at the bottom and in the aviaries we make use of absorbent material which is changed weekly. Each year every cage and external aviary is sanitised and remains empty for a month. Overcrowding is also avoided in order to offer our birds the healthiest living conditions. |
