The Gouldian Finch is native of northern Australia.

The Gouldian Finch presents the most spectacular coloring of the family of Australian Finches.
Birds with normal color have shades of color from bright green in the back, yellow belly, the chest and purple to red, black, orange head.
There are several mutations and various combinations.

It feeds on seeds of canary seed, millet, white, panic, and niger seed lawns.

Its reproduction occurs during our winter, with temperatures around 20 degrees. Average of 3 or 4 broods per season with the help of nurses in captivity (White-rumped Munia).
