The Pine Grosbeak is present in almost all regions of the northern hemisphere of the world where there are coniferous forests, from Canada and Siberia to Lapland.
The birds are large (20/25 cm). His feature that characterizes even the name is the shape of the body squat and sturdy. The male is deep pink on the face and in much of the upper body, interrupted by a gray-black streak. The rump is pink and wings are black white margin. The lower part of the body fades from pink to gray. The female has a gray color in its upper part up to smear on the bottom with the color yellow green.
The diet is composed of grains of hemp, niger, canary seed, sunflower, lettuce and various small insects.
