The Red Siskin is in Columbia and Venezuela.

Ancestrals are small in scale, which hovers around 11 cm and they have the characteristic spot-shaped cap on the head, wings and tail colors black and red body. The female has the whole gray with black wings and tail, with red only in the chest and pointed in the wings. They are very rare in nature, usually bred in captivity and are very delicate in acclimatization.

They feed generally canary seed, hemp, niger seeds, perilla seeds and various lettuces. They are very fond of the leaves of freshly picked vegetables.

Their breeding period is on the warmer months of spring and summer. Average of 3 broods per season.
