The Yellow Cardinal is present in some regions of South America with the exception of the Andes.
The birds are large (20/22 cm) and have the characteristic olive green plumage with yellow flags of the eye, cheek, chest and belly. The ridge and the chin strap is black. The sexes are similar in color with a tendency to yellow to green for the male and female.
They feed generally canary seed, millet, millet, white, hemp, niger, panic, fruits and insects of various kinds.
Their breeding period is to cover the warmer months of spring and summer. Average of 2 / 3 broods per season.
